Anyone can have a database of names. Meagher Energy Advisors understands current market trends and maintains relationships with many potential buyers. Meagher knows the A&D market because they work directly with active buyers and sellers every day.

Meagher Energy Advisors pairs one principal of the firm with a technical team for each project. During the time period between announcing a new sale and the date that bids are due, Meagher maintains continuous direct contact with each potential buyer who has expressed a serious interest. At the same time, Meagher uses their inside knowledge of the A&D industry to proactively target specific buyers.

The evaluation process is closely monitored. Meagher keeps the seller informed with a daily report of who is accessing the electronic data, what additional information is being requested, and what issues seem to be most important to the evaluators.

Preparation Before the Sale

Meagher organizes all pertinent information about the project into a streamlined data package. This information can include well operation reports, historical production volumes, expenses and revenues, land ownership, land and marketing contracts, geologic information, and seismic data. After reviewing this information with the seller, our staff generates economic evaluations and writes summaries which highlight the most important characteristics of each asset. This information is then assembled into an electronic data package and is posted on our web site. Meagher's new web site, launched in early 2010, utilizes the latest content distribution technology to deliver information interactively and efficiently. When a potential buyer accesses the data package online, they can be confident that they will receive up-to-date and well-organized information which can be used to build their own evaluation of the assets.

Interested buyers often request a face-to-face data room presentation. Meagher hosts these data rooms in their Denver or Tulsa office. Our staff presents an overview presentation and leads a discussion of the important issues for the particular project. Attendees also have the opportunity to review documents that may not be available online

Negotiation

Meagher Energy Advisors conducts our business through a sealed bid process. We believe that buyers are more aggressive when they pay what they believe the assets are worth, rather than only what they are told is a target price. We avoid furnishing a target price because we believe that many qualified buyers would be discouraged from participating in the evaluation process. We feel that the data and the analysis which we provide are a realistic reflection of established and potential value.

Closing

Meagher Energy Advisors still believes in supporting our clients through the entire transaction process.  We offer every seller assistance with the preparation of closing documents, allocation of values, and regulatory filings.
